Galaad Moutoz Orchestra

Formed in 2016, the band hit the ground running by exploring swing repertoires from the 30s (Chick Webb & Ella, Fletcher Henderson, Jimmie Lunceford) before pursuing a more modern sound (Gerald Wilson, Buddy Rich), original arrangements, and finally compositions.

After 7 years, one album and more than 300 concerts in France and worldwide (Vittoria Jazz Festival, Tel Aviv Jazz Festival, Opéra Garnier, Jazzablanca, Jazz Club Étoile, Gouvy Jazz Festival, Pannonica, Havel Hop Berlin, etc), the orchestra will release onthe 6th of May 2024 its new EP "Heal My Soul" with the singer Mélina Tobiana.

Convinced that a show is a moment of sharing, this dream team unleashes an original jazz, that is both pop and sophisticated, in a big swing celebration.

Melina Tobiana

« Used to jazz clubs, where she spent many nights honing her very own approach to singing. With her suave voice, her solid presence, her impactful soul & swing, Mélina Tobiana is a among the most irresistible jazz women of our time ! »

Louis-Julien Nicolaou - Télérama (TT)

Both a writer and a composer, she releases a first album made with original compositions in 2015, reaping critical acclaim.

In 2018 she creates the vocal ensemble Bloom, for which she writes and arranges, and with which she releases the 2019 album "Dièse 1 ".

With the Galaad Moutoz Orchestra, she delivers an emotional interpretation with an imppecable swing, full of groove and good vibes.

Galaad Moutoz

Trained in classical piano, ancient music, composition and conducting, Galaad Moutoz fell in love with jazz, which will always be in his heart.

A talkative piano player with many shades, he spends as much time practicing Earl Hines, Red Garland and Oscar Peterson, as he does Couperin or Rameau. As a composer, he's inspired by the likes of Cole Porter, Jean-Baptiste Lully, Duke Ellington, or Gabriel Fauré.

When he's not leading his orchestra, he plays in the Hot Sugar Band, and plays with the singer Anna Stevens.

Enamoured with vocal music, he now brings original jazz songs blending hints of broadway musicals, baroque music, pop, folk, and of course a lot of swing.
